Coffee Mug with Latte Art using Dies

Use your dies in a different way. Have you ever traced your dies? You can use circles to create a coffee mug top-down view. Then hand draw, stamp or trace a die to create some latte art. I love using different images. I mostly do winter images but you can use any season. Fall images would be great right now too!

The measurements for this card a simple:
  • Card base: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
  • Basic White layer: 5 1/4" x 4"
  • Basic White inside layer: 5" x 3 3/4"
Products by Stampin' Up!®:
  • Stylish Shapes dies
  • Peace on Earth dies
  • Traditional Labels stamp set
  • Perfectly Pears stamp set
  • Stampin' Blends markers
  • Cherry Cobbler and Basic White cardstocks
  • Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie classic ink pad
There are so many different products you could use. What's in your stash? Or browse my online store to see what you can add to your stash.

To make my coffee mug, I traced two circle dies. I used the largest two. You can use any size you like. Then I did a handle free-hand. You can see how I did this on the tutorial video. I took some inspiration from Latte Love, a retired stamp set from last year. It had a smaller stamp with a top-down view and a few different designs you could stamp in your mug. While I don't drink lattes often, I do appreciate a pretty coffee.

Here's a few other ideas. I used a stamped image for the trees. It's a new set coming in November 2025!

The tree stamp is from Outdoor Adventure bundle (stamp set and dies) coming November 4, 2025. I love the images in this set. They have a watercolored look.

The dove was created by tracing a dove die from Peace on Earth dies. Then I used Stampin' Blends markers to create coffee swirls in varying browns. I used Ivory to make the creamy part of my latte.

Check out the close-ups of my different coffees. My designs come out different each time.

To finish off your layer, you can create a mask with masking paper and stamp a background. On my tree latte, I laid a piece of masking paper over my mug and traced it. Then cut around the image and covered it with the mask. I used another stamp coming in November to stamp a background texture- Lasting Linen. I love this texture! The splatters are from Perfectly Pears and Month by Month (from the Scrapbooking Retreat workshop kit). I stamped the linen texture in Crumb Cake classic ink using the stamping off method. (stamp after inking on a scrap sheet then stamp onto your layer). The splatters are stamped in Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie classic inks. I used the stamping off method with the Pecan Pie ink too. My dove card just has splatters. Do you like simpler card or the texture background?

My greetings are stamped in Crumb Cake classic ink. I used Peace on Earth, Traditional Labels and Calm & Bright (from a kit) stamp sets. What kind of greetings would you use?
