Wow the months have flown by. I'm ready to get 2022 going and try new things. I've loved the look of slimline cards and have done a few. Stampin' Up! has released a slimline bundle (Slim Sayings) in the new 2022 January-June mini and it has sparked my love for this card size again.
I love starting off with a sketch and seeing what I can do with it. Check out the layout below and give it a try.
Measurements:
• Card Base: 8 ½” x 7” scored at 3 ½”
• Rectangle 8 ¼” x 3 ¼”
• Rectangle 7 ¾” x 2 ¾”
• Banner shape 2” x 2 ½”
• Rectangle 3” x ½” (adjust as needed for greeting)
• White cardstock 8 ¼” x 3 ¼” (inside layer for colored base)
For my stamped layer, I decided to try something different. The image from In The Moment is stamped directly onto a piece of wood grain patterned paper from Heart & Home designer series paper pack. I absolutely love this look. It's fun to stamp on dsp- try it! The image is stamped in Basic Gray classic ink. I used my Stamparatus and stamped it several times to make sure the image was dark enough to see over the wood grain.
I colored in the image with Stampin' Blends markers. Stampin' Up! is releasing a new set of blends February 1, 2022 called Natural Tones. So of course I had to use those on this card and test them out. They're wonderful. Colors used: light/dark Old Olive, dark Mossy Meadow, light/dark Night of Navy, light/dark Balmy Blue, light/dark Crumb Cake, light/dark Smoky Slate, Natural Tones 300, 400, 500, 600 and 700.
I used the Natural Tones on the skin, hair and dog. Aren't they wonderful. I'm super excited about these new blends. There's 5 new combo sets. They are different from our regular blends line in that the combos aren't a light and dark version of one color. They are two distinct colors. Demonstrators can per-order them now and they go live to customers on February 1, 2022. Don't miss them!

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my card with you. I hope you'll give the slimline card a try. It will fit into a letter sized envelope or #10.
Enjoy and happy stampin'
~ Beth
